West Ham have been able strengthen Graham Potter's squad drastically just hours before the Premier League clash against Chelsea. With Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug out injured and for the long-term, the Hammers have been actively searching for a new striker.

Club captain Jarrod Bowen has also missed the last few weeks with injury and though he is set to return very soon, it has been made no secret that West Ham wanted an addition up top.

Links to Brighton's Evan Ferguson, who Potter worked without on the south coast, have been present throughout January and now his temporary switch has been announced. Despite Brighton being open to a permanent exit, alongside links to Arsenal and Chelsea, Ferguson opted for a six-month move to London Stadium.

The 20-year-old has already played this weekend as he came on for the final few minutes of Brighton's humbling 7-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday lunchtime. Despite that, had his transfer been confirmed 24 hours earlier, his West Ham debut could have arrived at Stamford Bridge.

As squads have to be registered with the Premier League at 12pm the day before the clash, Ferguson will not be able to feature for his new club. Given his move has only just been confirmed, an appearance would have been hugely unlikely and as such he will have to wait until this Saturday against Brentford to potentially make his debut.

Joao Felix is another player that will not feature this evening with AC Milan having agreed a short-term loan deal, football.london understands. As for other potential exits, Carney Chukwuemeka's loan switch to Borussia Dortmund will be confirmed soon.

As for incomings, football.london understands the Blues have agreed a deal to sign Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne for a fee worth over £10million.
