McDowell Had Questionable Take On Donald Trump's Ryder Cup Arrival

After what was a stellar morning session from the Europeans at the Ryder Cup on Friday, it's fair to say that the home crowd was largely silenced at Bethpage.

Luke Donald's charges would take a 3-1 lead after the first session. That included wins in the first three matches of this year's Ryder Cup, all of which were massively convincing.

While that sucked a bit of life out of the American crowd, they seemed to be buoyed by one arrival ahead of the afternoon session.

Graeme McDowell Had Questionable Take On Donald Trump's Ryder Cup Arrival

Donald Trump has made a habit of attending major sporting events since the start of his second term as American President, showing up at the Super Bowl, US Open tennis final, and at UFC events.

He has now also become the first sitting president to attend the Ryder Cup, showing up ahead of Friday's afternoon session. He was given quite the welcome by the fans on the first tee.

Considering Trump's reputation in this part of the world, such a reaction is nothing short of baffling.

Then again, it seems that one Irish sportsperson was equally enamoured with his arrival. Graeme McDowell took to social media to share his excitement at catching a glimpse of the USA's 47th president.

We think that Graeme might have spent a little bit too long on the other side of the Atlantic.

As is his wont, Donald Trump was not shy in courting the limelight at Bethpage. Not only did he make the entrance seen above, but he would also accompany his close friend Bryson DeChambeau to the first tee box.

Absolutely surreal stuff.

That is without even mentioning USA captain Keegan Bradley breaking out a Donald Trump dance on the tee box.

While the Europeans are always determined to beat the USA on American soil, these sort of antics will no doubt give them a bit of extra motivation over the coming days.
