Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the upcoming Pan Pacific Open tennis in Tokyo with an illness, organisers announced on Thursday (16 October).Organisers did not specify what illness the 2021 US Open champion is suffering from, although she retired in the first round of the Wuhan Open in the People’s Republic of China two weeks ago after having her blood pressure checked during a medical timeout in the second set against Ann Li.On Tuesday at the Ningbo Open, Raducanu lost in three sets in the first round to Chinese wild card Zhu Lin, who is ranked 219th in the world.Raducanu was set to appear as one of the headline acts in the Pan Pacific Open, where the 22-year-old was going to play for her first time.
