World number one Jannik Sinner will meet rising American tennis star Ben Shelton in the Australian Open 2025 semi-final on Friday (24 January).

Shelton is making his second Grand Slam semi-final appearance and a first since the 2023 US Open. This year the Atlanta native has begun the season with his best Australian Open performance and one match away from a maiden major final.

The 21st seed takes on defending champion Sinner for a place in the final at Melbourne Park. Victory for the Italian would seal his third consecutive hard court Grand Slam final, in pursuit for a third major title.

The winner will face either Novak Djokovic or Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s final.
