Richmond has confirmed Jacob Bauer and Mate Colina will not be offered contracts for 2026.Richmond has confirmed that AFL players Jacob Bauer and Mate Colina will not be offered contracts for the 2026 AFL season.Bauer joined Richmond with pick No. 10 overall in the 2022 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft from North Adelaide, having previously been a part of the Sydney Swans Academy. The 23-year-old made his debut the following season and played 12 AFL games for the Tigers, including the first five matches of this season.Bauer, who ruptured his ACL in a VFL game in July, booted 11 goals at the top level.Richmond Executive General Manager, Football Talent, Blair Hartley, thanked Bauer for his hard work and application across three and a half seasons with the Club.“Jacob worked incredibly hard to win his way onto an AFL list and gave his all throughout his time at Richmond,” he said.“This time of year is always difficult, particularly with the unfortunate timing of Jacob’s significant knee injury. We wish him all the best for the remainder of his recovery and future endeavours.”Colina, 26, was added to Richmond’s list as a Category B Rookie in 2020, while completing his college basketball career with the University of Hawaii. The 213cm ruckman joined the Tigers full-time in 2022.He managed just 14 VFL matches across his time at the Club, having missed the entire 2023 and 2024 seasons through injury.Colina made seven appearances at VFL level this year before a shoulder injury ended his season.“Unfortunately for Mate, his body did not allow him to play as much football as he would have liked across his time at Richmond,” Hartley said.“He put his best foot forward and maintained a positive attitude despite his injury setbacks throughout his time here, and we wish him all the best for what is next.”
