But he saved two match points, won the set, and then finished with a wet sail to claim another terrific five-set comeback. The match was long and intense, so much so that the Spaniard forgot Mensik twice had match point."I didn't remember that I saved two match points, I was so focused on every point and winning the tie break," he said while laughing."I don't know how to describe this feeling you know, winning here in Australia is special for me."I am very happy for the comeback."Davidovich Fokina will come up against 12th-seed American Tommy Paul in the fourth round. It is only the second time he has made it this far in a grand slam, also making the fourth round of the US Open in 2022.3. Badosa offers boyfriend racquet to prove he can do betterSometimes advice from your partner is not what you need.Spanish 11th seed Paula Badosa navigated a tricky match-up against Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk to advance to the fourth round at Melbourne Park.Paula Badosa offers her boyfriend, Stefanos Tsitsipas, to try and do better after being down 0-5 in the second set of her third round match at the Australian Open. (AP: Ng Han Guan)Badosa needed three sets to get past the 17th seed 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in a two-and-a-half hour battle. The second set was very tough for the Spaniard who found herself down 0-5.Sitting in her chair she looked up to her boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas — who suffered a shock first round exit in the men's draw — to vent her frustration.Like any good partner, Tsitsipas tried reassurance and gestured to Badosa to calm down. That didn't work.Badosa grabbed another racquet and held it out, gesturing to her Greek partner that if he should come and try to do better in what was hot and windy conditions. The exchange did inspire Badosa to win the next four games, before ultimately losing the second set.Once victory was secured, however, Badosa was full of love and praise for her supportive partner."He (Tsitsipas) was very supportive giving me amazing tips. He was supporting me at every point," she said."I think he was more nervous than me."4. He jumped with excitement saying, "It is AO!".Alcaraz, a crowd favourite wherever he goes, joined in the excitement of John with a little jump. The photo that Alcaraz, John, and Portugal's Nuno Borges shared would warm the coldest of hearts as the young kid had a grin from ear to ear, clearly loving his moment with the stars.John then made sure to bring the crowd in on the fun as he ran off court, skipping and waving to those in Rod Laver Arena who gave him a massive cheer.Carlos and John were not done, with the Spanish grand slam winner inviting the youngster to his press conference. As talk about fan behaviour dominated much of the discussion at Melbourne Park on day six, seeing John relish his moment was a timely reminder that the first grand slam of the year is still the 'Happy Open'.5.
