Tyler Dibling has sent a classy message to Southampton supporters on Instagram. The teenage winger completed his transfer to Everton on Monday evening.

Dibling had been linked with the Blues throughout the summer window, with Everton initially seeing three bids rejected for the 19-year-old. However, after a breakthrough in negotiations, the transfer has now been completed.

The winger honed his craft at Southampton and progressed through their youth setup. He was at Chelsea for three months in 2022 but returned to the south coast after making just two appearances for the club’s under-18 side.

Dibling broke into the first team on a regular basis last season and started the Premier League campaign in brilliant form. However, Southampton struggled to build any momentum throughout the year and finished the season with just 12 points.

The winger always looked likely to leave this summer as a result of the club’s relegation. And while his desire to join Everton had been known for a while, his attitude throughout the transfer saga has been commended.

The man himself has now signed off from his old club with an emotional message: “Thank you, Saints,” the post started.

“From joining as an eight-year-old to making my debut and playing in the Premier League, I am grateful and proud of the past 11 years.

“I want to thank all those who helped me on my journey, both past and present — coaches, staff, and teammates. I wish the club nothing but the best for the future.”

In a separate post, Dibling shared his delight at joining the Blues: “New home, new beginnings,” he said. “Can’t wait to get going. Excited to be a Toffee.”

“Tyler adds to our attacking options and we will support him in his future development.

“We are eager to build a team that Evertonians can enjoy watching and be proud of, and Tyler can help us achieve that.”
