Dave Portnoy has reportedly been banned from The Shoe for Saturday’s game between Ohio State and Texas. While Barstool Sports struck a deal with FOX to have their own show and, at times, have Portnoy appear on Big Noon Kickoff, he cannot enter the stadium. A move you would only see in the college football world. And this reaction is another great example of what only college football can provide. When Portnoy posted a photo of himself in sunglasses and a mustache — jokingly implying he would sneak in — Connor Stalions was quick to reply. He asked, “You need tickets?”You need tickets? — Connor Stalions (@cpstalions) August 26, 2025Social media has eaten up the reply from Stalions, growing his lore inside the sport. Famously, Stalions received and handed out tickets while working for Michigan. While the program is moving past its NCAA investigation after receiving punishments, it’s hard to ignore anything Stalions says involving the Ohio State rivalry. While Portnoy has sent out a few reactionary tweets of his own, no official statements from him or FOX have been released. Big Noon Kickoff is still scheduled to take place in Columbus, previewing what could be the top game in Week 1 between Texas and Ohio State.Portnoy is still scheduled to feature on the show but when the crew moves inside the stadium, he will not be present. Barstool Sports will not host its own pregame show either like they originally planned to.More on Dave Portnoy receiving ban from Ohio StadiumAccording to Ryan Glasspiegel of FOS, Barstool founder Dave Portnoy is “barred” from Ohio Stadium. While he is still slated to appear on the show earlier in the day, when the likes of Rob Stone and Urban Meyer get inside the building as the atmosphere builds, Portnoy cannot follow them in.“Ohio State is barring Barstool Sports from campus and its founder Dave Portnoy from entering Ohio Stadium for the school’s huge opening-week matchup against Texas on Saturday, sources told Front Office Sports,” Glasspiegel said. “Portnoy will still appear on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff, but not for the end of the show inside the stadium, a source said.”Portnoy is quite vocal on social media when it comes to supporting Ohio State’s biggest rival, the Michigan Wolverines. He attended the university and has remained incredibly royal. Tweets about the rivalry are incredibly common from Portnoy, especially as Michigan currently owns a four-game winning streak against Ohio State.
