Week five of the NFL season is quickly approaching. This week presents some great matchups in fantasy football at every position. Some players’ stock is damaged due to injuries, while others seem primed for big games against lackluster defenses. These are starts, sits, and streamers for fantasy football week five.Justin Fields – StartJustin Fields is the lucky QB who gets to go against the dreadful Dallas Cowboys defense this week. He has had a fantastic fantasy season so far, and that will surely continue this week. The Cowboys have not contained any offense so far this season, and the New York Jets’ run-heavy attack will likely not be the first. It should be a high-scoring shootout, meaning lots of extra passing opportunities for Fields. His upside is too high to keep him on the bench this week.Baker Mayfield – SitBaker Mayfield has been a top-five QB early in the season, so sitting him may be difficult. This week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers go against the top-rated Seattle Seahawks defense, which has not given up more than 20 points this season. The Buccaneers have an explosive offense, which could certainly benefit Mayfield, but there are certainly better options this week. If given the option to start Fields of Mayfield, start Fields.Bryce Young – StreamBryce Young is a fine backup plan if looking for a replacement after an injury. His matchup against the Miami Dolphins should present a higher ceiling than typical for Young. This would be a play out of desperation, but unfortunately for some, it may become necessary with all of the quarterback injuries.Cam Skattebo – StartCam Skattebo is well on his way to becoming a weekly start in fantasy, and this week is no exception. He will anchor what is likely to become an extremely run-heavy offense against the New Orleans Saints. He has the ability to be a touchdown machine, regardless of the matchup. This very well could be the week he solidifies himself as a high-end RB2 in fantasy.Jordan Mason – SitJordan Mason and the Minnesota Vikings face off against the Cleveland Browns this week in another international game. The Browns have turned into one of the best defenses in the NFL, so starting any Vikings player may be a mistake. Mason will likely see many opportunities once again, but the production may not be there. It would be best to keep him on the bench, maybe put him at flex if necessary.Justice Hill – StreamJustice Hill is not a player to carry all season long, as Derrick Henry will maintain a high workload, but week five is certainly an exception. The Baltimore Ravens will not be a dominant offense without Lamar Jackson this week, meaning they could find themselves playing from behind against the Houston Texans. Hill will likely see an increase in snaps with Cooper Rush at QB, as they will likely need to pass later in the game. He could be a decent flex play in fantasy this week.Garrett Wilson – StartGarrett Wilson is a great start for the same reason as Fields. The Cowboys’ defense is just that bad that the Jets will have so many opportunities to score. As previously discussed, the game will likely be a shootout, which should make for more passing downs. Wilson has shown steady production with Fields at QB, and Sunday vs Dallas should be a big-time performance.Dolphins Receivers – SitTyreek Hill going down with a season-ending injury last week has thrown the Miami Dolphins’ rough offense into an even worse spiral. They could go in any direction in terms of targets. The likely beneficiary would be Jaylen Waddle, but who knows if he will step up. Malik Washington will see many claims on the waiver wire week, but once again, it’s better to have him sit until the situation is clearer.Elic Ayomanor – StreamElic Ayomanor has been a waiver wire gem for weeks and certainly should be added by now. He is still only rostered in about 30% of leagues, so adding him could be easier than imagined. He has a steady floor with a high ceiling, making for a fantastic streaming WR or flex this week. Ayomanor has seen consistent targets, and his role on the Tennessee Titans is only expected to rise.Sam Laporta – StartSam Laporta has not found the same success as he did in his rookie season, but he has a tremendous matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals play loads of man coverage, which should make Laporta a valuable piece this week. The Detroit Lions have tons of talent on offense, and Laporta has been the odd man out so far. That could all change Sunday. If everything goes right, Laporta could end this week as a top-three fantasy TE.Mark Andrews – SitMark Andrews is coming off his two best games of the season, but with optimism so high, the brakes need to be pumped. His route share fell to just 57% last week once Isaiah Likely made his season debut. Another factor that will hurt Andrews this week is the QB situation. If Rush is in fact starting, it would be hard to start Andrews in any fantasy situation.Theo Johnson – StreamTheo Johnson has seemingly developed good chemistry with rookie QB Jaxson Dart. He was targeted five times in last week’s victory. With Malik Nabers out for the season, the New York Giants will need to spread out the targets to others. Everyone jumps to Darius Slayton or Wandale Robinson, but keep an eye on Johnson in the upcoming weeks. In what has been a rough season for fantasy TEs, Johnson could be a fantasy football waiver wire gem.End Of My Fantasy Rant
