Indian tennis player Anirudh Chandrasekar and his partner David Hernandez of Spain won the men’s doubles title at the Girona Challenger 2025 on Saturday.

The unseeded Indo-Spanish pair pulled off an upset 6-4, 6-4 win over top seeds Gregoire Jacq of France and Orlando Luz of Brazil in the final.

The win in Girona marks Anirudh Chandrasekar’s 12th career doubles title and his second of the year, following his Bengaluru Open triumph with Chinese Taipei’s Ray Ho in March.

This was Anirudh Chandrasekar-David Hernandez's first win in two meetings against Gregoire Jacq-Orlando Luz.

During Saturday’s final, Anirudh Chandrasekar and David Hernandez lost their serve in the second game of the opening set and trailed 3-0 early on.

However, they were quick to recover by holding their serve for the remainder of the set and breaking back in the fifth and seventh games to close out the opener.

Anirudh Chandrasekar-David Hernandez carried the momentum into the second stage and almost broke Jacq-Luz in the opener but the French-Brazilian duo saved three break points to hold their serve.

However, Chandrasekar and Hernandez went on to break Jacq and Luz in the fifth game and held their serve for the rest of the second set to win the final in an hour and 27 minutes.

Earlier in the ATP Challenger tournament, Anirudh Chandrasekar-David Hernandez beat Indian pair Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar in the opening round before defeating Spanish duo Inigo Cervantes-Daniel Rincon in the quarter-finals.

In the semi-finals, Chandrasekar-Hernandez overcame Czechia’s Matej Vocel and Poland’s Szymon Walkow to qualify for the final.
