The Sydney Swans have traded Oliver Florent to the Carlton Football Club for a future third round draft pick.

Since being drafted to Sydney from the Sandringham Dragons with pick 11 in the 2016 AFL draft, Florent played 184 games and kicked 51 goals in the red and white

A much-loved member of the playing group, the 27-year-old has played in two Grand Finals. He spent most of his career at the Swans playing off half back, impressing with his speed and delivery by foot.

Sydney Swans Executive General Manager, AFL Football, Leon Cameron has wished Florent well for the next chapter of his career.

“Since arriving in Sydney, Ollie has been a popular member of our team and it has been a tough call to let him go,” Cameron said.

“We have seen him grow from a shy teenager into a fantastic young man who has a good work ethic and an ability to unite others.

“On behalf of everyone at our club I would like to thank Ollie for his contribution on and off the field. We wish him all the very best as he embarks on a new opportunity at Carlton.”
