Who is Katarzyna Kawa? Alex Eala’s first opponent in the Suzhou Open WTA 125

Alexandra “Alex” Eala is set to compete in another WTA 125 tournament, this time at the Suzhou Open in China.

Eala, the fourth seed in the tournament, will face Katarzyna Kawa of Poland in the Round of 32 on Monday at 10:00 a.m.

Kawa, a 32-year-old player currently ranked No. 124 in the world, achieved a career-high ranking of No. 112 in November 2020.

She is coming off a Round of 32 loss to Iva Jovic, also competing in the Suzhou Open, at the Guadalajara Open earlier this month.

Kawa also played in the WTA 125 Guadalajara Open, where she reached the Round of 16. Eala went on to win that tournament.

Currently ranked No. 58 in the world, Eala is coming off a semifinal loss to Lulu Sun at the Jingshan Tennis Open.
