Haris Rauf repeated his controversial plane-crash gesture against India during the 2025 Asia Cup final in Dubai, despite previous ICC fines.International Cricket Council (ICC)’s reported fines on Haris Rauf for his vile plane-crash gestures against India seem to have had little effect on the Pakistani pacer. He was seen repeating it multiple times in the 2025 Asia Cup final against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. He did it on the first opportunity he got, too. On the first ball of the second over, pacer Faheem Ashraf fooled opening batter Abhishek Sharma with a slower one. The left-hander tried to take it on in the air but ended up scooping it straight to mid-on, where Rauf was placed and caught it easily. The cameras didn’t record it but fan videos from the crowd show him doing the plane dip repeatedly, even as Ashraf celebrates on Abhishek’s face. Watch it here:It all relates to the Pakistan government’s baseless claims that they downed some Indian fighter jets in the four-day border scuffle in May. He started making the gesture in the Super-Four clash between the teams last Sunday, taunting the Indian fans in the crowd with it.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reached out to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to lodge an official complaint against the fast-bowler. According to reports, Rauf pleaded not guilty, saying his gestures weren’t directed at India, but the ICC hit him with a fine worth 30% of his match fees for ‘aggressive behavior’.“Match referee Richie Richardson had completed his hearing on Friday afternoon at the team hotel. Hars Rauf has been fined 30 percent of his match fees for aggressive behaviour, and Farhan (Sahibzada Farhan, who made a gun-fire celebration for a fifty) has been let off with a warning," a tournament source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.Rauf wasn’t the first to bring out the celebration in this match, however, with India’s Jasprit Bumrah taunting him with it when he got the pacer out in the first innings.
