The Indian tennis team made a strong start in their Davis Cup 2025 World Group I play-offs against Togo after Mukund Sasikumar and Ramkumar Ramanathan won their respective singles rubbers at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi on Saturday.Mukund Sasikumar beat Liova Ajavon 6-2, 6-1 while Ramkumar Ramanathan brushed aside Thomas Setodji 6-0, 6-2 to hand hosts India a 2-0 lead heading into the second day of the five-match tie on Sunday.Up first in the opening match of the tie against Togo’s Liova Ajavon, Mukund Sasikumar, 365th in the ATP tennis rankings, started tentatively and saved a break point in the third game of the match to hold serve.
