Craig Swan answers your calls as Steve Clarke and Ibrox going ons grab the headlines.Rangers' hierarchy and Steve Clarke are facing the fiercest fire on the latest Hotline. The Ibrox club’s hunt for a new manager continues after rejection from Steven Gerrard and fans are not happy.Scotland boss Clarke led the nation to six points out of six in the race for the World Cup, but the performance against Belarus has left the Tartan Army cold.Kicking off with Rangers, Cooper Steven emailed: “For the new owners to make the mistake of hiring a new manager that very few fans wanted was bad enough. When it blew up in their face you would think a lesson had been learned. If they now go ahead and appoint Danny Rohl as the new manager, that would just be outright stupidity, because if he does not get off to a flyer, then both he and the entire management team will have no way back with the fans.”Jimmy Mac, Glasgow, said: “After all the supporters shouting for Gerrard as the next Rangers manager I feel that we supporters are overdue a reason either by Gerrard or [Andrew] Cavenagh, not [Patrick] Stewart or [Kevin] Thelwell who treat supporters with contempt. As for Gerrard that was the best opportunity he will get considering his last two clubs were total failures. He might possibly get a low Championship club who will never be able to win promotion or play in Europe. Also Rohl is no better than Martin.”Dr Robert S Pender, said: “There is serious trouble ahead if the Director of Football remains in his position. Having worked professionally within football and strong contacts, news spreads fast. Only the desperate looking for a job will touch Rangers and all the strong candidates will run.”Gerard Kelly said: “You know what’s funny? Every Rangers fan saying they should have got Gerrard, but did they ever stop to think maybe Gerrard was asking for too much? Let's be honest here, is Gerrard a good manager? No. He has won one trophy in his managerial career and flew out the door and been sacked both times.”Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, said: “With over a dozen poor signings, what hope have they recouping any of that in January? The wage bill must be huge.”James Kennedy, Kilsyth, said: “After seeing the scenes at Falkirk, no person in their right senses would take on the job at Rangers. The reaction of the so-called fans was horrific and intimidating. The treatment they meted out to Martin was a total disgrace and any aspiring contender would look at this and think: That could be me.”Carol Roberts said: “What a mess Rangers have been left in. There’s a man right in front of their faces called Barry Ferguson who should have kept his place as manager to start with. At least fans know his heart and soul is in Rangers, so give Barry the chance to prove he’s the right man for the job.”Scotland’s two wins have the World Cup in touching distance, but even the players and manager bemoaned the showing in the 2-1 win over Belarus.Stephen Mulhearn, Dumbarton, said: “I hear Steve Clarke saying he was scratching his head after that abysmal performance. I was doing the same wondering why I spent 35 quid. Surely those who attended should be given free admission to the Denmark match in some form of apology.”William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: “That was an awful performance against Belarus. Clarke has brought in a level of boredom to football.”James Thompson, Clydebank, said: “What a dire display by Scotland. Scottish football is in a terrible state. Neil Doncaster and his cronies are living the good life, can anyone tell me what have they done over the past 15 years that has improved Scottish football? Absolutely nothing.”Ritchie Campbell said: “After another really shocking and poor performance in the qualifiers for the World Cup. Do we need to be totally ashamed and show the world how far Scottish football has regressed?
