The Sydney Swans have welcomed key defender Jai Serong to the club in a trade completed with Hawthorn.The Swans receive Serong and a future fourth round draft pick, while Hawthorn receive a future third round draft pick. The trade was completed on the final day of the 2025 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.Serong, who hails from the Victorian town of Inverloch, was originally taken with pick 53 in the 2021 AFL draft from the Gippsland Power. He has played 10 games with the Hawks over the past three seasons and was this year named in the VFL Team of the Year.Sydney Swans Executive General Manager, AFL Football, Leon Cameron, has welcomed Serong to the club“We look forward to Jai arriving at our club and getting stuck into work on day one of the pre-season,” Cameron Said.“Having been a standout performer in the VFL over the past two seasons, we think Jai is ready to take his game to a new level and add to our defensive stocks.”
