Australian tennis fans aren't going to forget about Danielle Collins any time soon.

The American made herself a villain of Melbourne Park last month when she went to war with the Open crowd during a win over local hope Destanee Aiava.

She told fans to "shut up" and then goaded them when she won the match, blowing sarcastic kisses and slapping her behind.

The taunting continued when she thanked Aussie fans for providing her "big fat pay cheque" which she pledged could be put toward a post-Open holiday in the Bahamas.

And the 31-year-old stayed true to her word, posting a video to Instagram on Monday proving she is indeed on a lavish holiday in the island nation off the coast of Cuba.

She tagged the post "this five-star vacay brought to you by..." as a savage callback to her time in Melbourne.

And the exclamation mark on the video was a kiss and a slap on her own behind after playing some pickelball with a friend.

Collins was bundled out of the Australian Open in the third round by countrywoman and eventual title winner Madison Keys.

It was an eventful week for the fiery American, who also took aim at Nine presenter Tony Jones during her relatively short stay in Melbourne.

Collins challenged Jones to a "Brat dance" after the veteran host called out the player for her sledge of the Aussie crowd.

She was booed off the court - and then on the court when she played Keys - for bragging about her earnings.

"I was super happy to do that," she told reporters after her spat with the fans.

"One of the greatest things about being a professional athlete is the people that don't like you and the people that hate you, they actually pay your bills. It's kind of a cool concept.

"Obviously my professional career is not going to last forever. So I just remind myself every day when I have that kind of stuff, they're paying my bills.

"Every person that's bought a ticket to come out here and heckle me or do what they do, it's all going towards the Danielle Collins Fund."
