A Guernsey Woven with Pride

Pride Game at the SCG returns this weekend when we host Essendon in Round 21.

The Sydney Swans' new Pride Guernsey proudly integrates the colours of the Progress Pride Flag into our iconic red and white design — a powerful symbol of unity, identity, and progress.

Adorning the front of our home guernsey, the rainbow follows the outline of the Sydney Opera House, echoing the form of swan feathers and paying tribute to one of our city’s most celebrated landmarks.

More than just a design, this guernsey is a statement. The Progress Pride Flag represents the rich diversity of the LGBTIQA+ community and calls for a more inclusive future — values that are at the heart of the Sydney Swans Pride Game. We believe football should be a place where everyone feels seen, safe, and celebrated.

The LGBTIQA+ community is woven into the fabric of our club — through people and place. Based just a drop punt from the vibrant heart of Oxford Street, we honour the legacy and energy of a neighbourhood that means so much to this community. And with the passionate support of the Rainbow Swans, our message is clear: everyone is welcome at the football.

Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley said the new guernsey is more than a design.

“Our club is really proud to play in the Pride Game and show our support for the Rainbow Swans and our wider LGBTIQA+ supporter base,” Harley said.

“The Pride Guernsey is a visual symbol that the Sydney Swans believe football should be a place where everyone feels seen, safe, and celebrated.

“The Pride Game is a fantastic celebration of football and diversity, and we’re looking forward to seeing the team run out in the new guernsey on Saturday night.”

Pride Game returns to the SCG

The Sydney Swans are pleased to announce that Round 21 against Essendon will be Pride Game at the SCG with match day and pride partner Adora Fertility, to celebrate and stand united with LGBTIQA+ communities, providing a platform to listen, learn, and highlight stories.

Established in 2016 through a collaboration with St Kilda, the Pride Game has become a powerful symbol of diversity in sport, carrying the message that everyone is welcome at the football.

After nine seasons, the Swans will face a new Pride Game opponent in the Bombers this year, with the fixture slated for Saturday, August 2 at 4.15pm.

LGBTIQA+ Pride is one of four key pillars in the Sydney Swans’ Diversity Action Plan. The club works closely with the Rainbow Swans and youth organisation Twenty10 to ensure its Pride initiatives are impactful and meaningful. In 2025, Adora Fertility joined as the club’s Official Pride Partner, further strengthening this commitment.

The Sydney Swans thanks these organisations for their continued support and look forward to celebrating Pride Game at the SCG in Round 21.
