Matthew 12:25: “And knowing their thoughts, he said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand'”.I’ve decided to write today’s article in line with what has become the general consensus amongst most Celtic fans after this summer’s events. There is no doubting now that Glasgow Celtic FC is officially a house divided.I’ve used the quote above from Matthew 12:25.Nothing more aptly describes the situation at Celtic than that quote.“Every Kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation.”You need to ask yourself as a Celtic fan if this is what you want?Do you want your club brought to desolation?Does what you’ve seen over the course of this summer just gone present enough evidence to you that Celtic is headed for desolation?I think it does.I don’t see this changing, no matter what the board does from here on out.Because anything from here on out will be an act of appeasement designed to ensure we continue to pour our money into the club. That is all this current board is interested in.A reduction or withdrawal of that finance is the only thing that will frighten these men into action. And that in itself should speak volumes to you about where their priorities really lie. They don’t care about you or what you think. They only care about what they can extract from you.If that comes under threat, they will pretend they care, but do not be fooled into believing that they do.Everything they have done up to now proves that they do not.As the old saying goes, a Leopard never changes it’s spots, and believe me, neither will these charlatans. They may pause the route to desolation to lure you back in to their way of thinking, but make no mistake, Celtic will remain a house divided, regardless of what they do.“Every city or house divided against itself will not stand”.Celtic “will not stand” on it’s current trajectory.Look at how far it has fallen since that night in Munich, which in hindsight for us, should have been a major turning point for our club.It should have been the night where we committed to taking Celtic to the next level.Well, we the fans were, the manager was, and there is no doubting the players wanted it too.It is clear now that the board did not, thus emphasising where we officially became a house divided. The fall from grace has been nothing if not both catastrophic and spectacular. Most billionaires are billionaires because they prioritise money over everything else.It becomes the be all and end all of their existence, they are billionaires because the more money they accumulate, the more they want.It is the essence of corporate greed. We have a billionaire involved in our club who acts like he owns our club.Yet he does not.He may own a sizable portion of the club’s shares, but he does not own the club.He acts like he does because nobody tells him otherwise. It is one of the reasons he is a billionaire, he commands fear and respect because he has that title.People will rarely say no to him.In fact I’m pretty sure he rarely hears that word.He certainly never hears it from the people on the Celtic board, that’s for sure.In return for their loyalty and obedience, they are also richly rewarded, and the trappings they’ve become used to as custodians of our club are something they are loathe to let go of now.So they will do whatever it takes to retain those trappings.Whatever it takes. However, they are blinded by corporate greed.I believe that stems from the individual they revere residing in Shrewsbury road in Dublin, and the Caribbean whenever it takes his fancy.Corporate greed has made him a billionaire.People afraid of saying no to him has made him a billionaire. But when you strip Dermot Desmond down naked and put him beside you or I, he is just the same as the rest of us.A human, vulnerable, subject to age and illness, the same as us.He eats, sleeps, shits and pisses, just the same as the rest of us.Just because his bank balance could feed a nation, should not set him apart from the rest of us.But he feels that it does. And because he feels it does, he also feels he can treat Celtic as his plaything, to do with as he pleases.Because nobody tells him otherwise. He can act like he cares about it, or when he doesn’t, he can leave it to the charlatans who do his bidding. As long as the bank balance is burgeoning, he doesn’t really care how it’s achieved. He is completely detached from the needs and wishes of the Celtic fanbase. He, in fact, does not care about us or what we think, which he proved categorically back in early 2021 when he decided to retain Neil Lennon despite the fact he was killing our 10IAR season.Desmond did that to spite us, to show us he’s in control and we’re not.And just look at how Lennon is beholden to him by his comments in relation to the board at last Sunday’s Glasgow Derby.Essentially, the current board have sold their souls to corporate greed, and in doing so, they have lost complete sight of what Celtic is.Celtic has become a vessel for their corporate greed, an entity with which to develop it.And as a result, they have torn the life and soul out of the club. This is not what Celtic was created for when Brother Walfrid founded the club back in 1887.It was not created to become a corporate entity run by individuals who only care about what can be extracted from the people who love it so much.Celtic fans are as devoted to Celtic as they are to Christ, the very ethos that was driven by the club’s founding father. It is what makes being a Celtic supporter so special, and what makes us feel so connected with the club. But of late, we feel like we are losing that connection, or that it is being taken away from us.So, what you’ve got ask yourself is this, do you want to continue to be part of a cult that worships only the bank balance of the vassal that is Celtic? And I say vassal, because a vassal is something that is in a subordinate position to another. The “other” being Dermot Desmond, and by extension, his cronies in the boardroom. These are the men who have sold the soul of this club in exchange for corporate greed. It is our duty as Celtic supporters, who revere Celtic for what is was founded for, to save the soul of the club.Because it has been lost of late, drifting aimlessly, and we need to put it back into the heart if the club. But are you ready for that fight? Are you ready and willing to do whatever it takes to save Celtic’s soul?Because this could be a long and ugly road.It could result in our club falling behind it’s rivals, just as it did before. It could result in you not going to watch the team you love to make a point to these people that your loyalty is not a one way thing. That if you give to Celtic, you expect something in return. You expect that your dreams for this club are realised by what you see on the field of play. Not asset stripped and decimated, as the footballing operation has been over the last year or so.Celtic is a football club, not a corporate entity to be used for corporate greed.Too many football clubs have sold their souls for corporate greed, and in doing so, they have all lost sight of what they are there for.The fans were once the heart and soul of a football club, now we are seen as cash cows.People to extract as much as is possible from, and give very little in return. That is not Celtic. It should never be Celtic. We are better than that. Are you ready to save the soul of Celtic Football club? Are you ready for the fight? It starts now, with us, the life and soul of the club. It’s time for us to take our club back.#Sack the Board#Renewal is comingYouTube: Heads Must RollWe’ll be having a special Trinity Tims Podcast tomorrow evening to reflect on this disaster of a window. Be sure to tune in. In the meantime, enjoy last night’s show!
