Aston Villa explore Liverpool transfer after Jadon Sancho update

Harvey Elliot is a target for Aston Villa on deadline day

Aston Villa are keen on signing Liverpool's Harvey Elliott ahead of tonight’s 7pm transfer deadline.

The 22-year-old has been available for transfer this summer and is allowed to leave on deadline day.

Liverpool have added several forwards to Arne Slot’s squad during this window and are set to add Alexander Isak to their options as well.

As first reported by The Times, Villa have been monitoring Elliott as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his attacking ranks.

Villa are also expected to sign Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United—a move that is separate from United’s interest in Emi Martínez.

Victor Lindelöf is set to become Villa’s first deadline day signing, while Emery is keen to bring in at least one more attacker before the window closes.

A new number one will be needed if United move forward with a deal for Martínez. However, Senne Lammens is understood to be their primary target.
