Manchester United have snapped up Bryan Mbeumo and are now rivalling Brentford in the race for an exciting youngster.

Manchester United beat West Ham United 2-1 overnight, securing a victory in the Premier League Summer Series.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice to hand United victory at MetLife Stadium, with fans seeing encouraging signs under Ruben Amorim.

There is still a long way to go, and still a new face to bring into the side after United snapped up Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Mbeumo wasn’t involved against West Ham and may not even play against Bournemouth later this week.

United will look to bring Mbeumo up to speed quickly, but may also be ready to deal Brentford another blow.

Manchester United want Brentford target Idrissa Gueye

Reports from France just days ago suggested that United have joined the race to sign Idrissa Gueye from Metz.

The 18-year-old forward scored five times in 20 Ligue 2 games last season, helping Metz claim promotion back to Ligue 1.

Attacker Gueye only joined Metz from Generation Foot in Senegal back in January, but has already made a big impact.

Metz have strong ties to Generation Foot and previously brought the likes of Sadio Mane, Ismail Sarr, Diafra Sakho and Pape Matar Sarr to Europe from the Senegalese club.

Gueye is now the latest big talent to emerge for Metz, and The Sun claim that Metz are seeking around £15million.

Brentford want to sign Gueye as a long-term attacking addition, having lost Mbeumo to United.

The Bees allegedly believed that Southampton were the only major competition for Gueye’s signature, but are now finding that United are keen as well.

Crucially, Brentford want to offer Gueye immediate first-team football in the Premier League, whereas United see him as a talent for the future.

Gueye will have plenty to think about as Premier League clubs chase his signature, especially having only arrived in Europe earlier this year.

Ineos continue to chase young attackers

Gueye would be another exciting addition for the future at Old Trafford, with United continuing to chase young attackers.

Chido Obi joined United last year and has already shown glimpses of his quality in the first-team picture.

Enzo Kana-Biyik signed for United earlier this summer and has already been loaned out to Lausanne-Sport, who are owned by Ineos.

Kana-Biyik has already picked up an injury, but there are real hopes that he can become a star in the future.

Gueye would join Obi and Kana-Biyik in the United ranks, but Ineos will need to have a firm development plan in mind in order to beat Brentford.
