Amid calls for a boycott of the India vs Pakistan match, the PVR Inox has decided to cancel the live streaming of the Asia Cup 2025 final between the arch-rivals in Mumbai and several other cities of Maharashtra after opposition from Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT).

In a social media post on X, Shiv Sena (UBT) said after a discussion with its leader Akhil Chitre, the PVR management has cancelled all the shows of India-Pakistan cricket matches in PVR cinemas.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led party said playing cricket matches with Pakistan, the country behind the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack, is a “mockery of the sentiments of the Indian public”.

Earlier on Saturday, Shiv Sena (UBT) boss Uddhav Thackeray appealed to the “patriots” to not watch the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup final at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai.

Thackeray slammed the Narendra Modi-led Central government for allowing the cricket match with Pakistan.

Criticising the government over the arrest of climate activist and renowned scientist Sonam Wangchuk, Thackeray said, “The one who is working for our forces has been dubbed anti-national and arrested under the NSA and you are playing cricket with Pakistan which spreads terror in India. What kind of patriotism is this?”

Meanwhile, India opted to bowl against Pakistan in the final of Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium.
