Swansea City has confirmed the arrival of a new Chief Operating Officer as part of a wide restructuring of its leadership team.

New COO Tom Gorridge has joined from Bristol Rovers, where he worked as the club's chief executive officer, while the Swans have also confirmed that Ken Gude is set to take on the role of Executive Director and Company Secretary, having previously served as the club's Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy.

Meanwhile, Gerard Cassidy, who has been with the club for a decade, has been promoted to the role of Financial Controller, and Ben Greenwood, another long-serving employee, has been promoted to Head of Football Operations and Administration. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.

The move follows on from the arrival of Richard Montague, who was appointed as the club's new Director of Football, having arrived from Notts County.

Montague is likely to take a leading role in the search for a new first-team manager, after former Notts colleague Luke Williams was dismissed from his post earlier this week, but his arrival has been just one of several moves the club hope have implemented in a bid to plug perceived gaps in expertise behind the scenes.

Chairman Andy Coleman said: “We are making changes to our leadership team to improve our performances on and off the pitch. There will always be a period of transition after a takeover, and we’ve been busy working to spot the gaps and areas that we need to improve to take this club forward.”

Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed the departure of long-serving Chief Financial Officer Gareth Davies.

In a statement, the club said: "After more than thirteen years with Swansea City, Gareth Davies has left his position as Chief Financial Officer and resigned as a Director.

"He was at the forefront of many milestones for Swansea City, including the Club’s time in the Premier League, securing full control of the Stadium, and changes in ownership.

"Davies has skilfully managed the Club’s finances through the challenges of the return to the Championship in 2018 and the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020-2021.

"Everyone at Swansea City AFC would like to share their thanks and appreciation to Gareth’s contribution to the Club and we wish him the very best for the future."
