The Sydney Sixers will travel to Hobart for the opening Big Bash finals match of the season against the Hurricanes on Tuesday after a rain-affected draw which saw just 31 balls bowled at the SCG.Play was called off after 5.1 overs of the Sydney Thunder’s innings with David Warner (22 off 14 balls) and Hugh Weibgen (one off three balls) at the crease. Sam Konstas perished for nine, bowled by Jack Edwards in a match that never got going.Rain stopped play on several occasions as more than 20,000 fans braced wet conditions.It means the Sixers and Thunder have finished the regular BBL season in second and third respectively. Results on Saturday and Sunday can’t change their position on the ladder.The Hurricanes, who have one more match against the Stars on Sunday, will host the Sixers in Hobart on Tuesday evening. The winner will advance straight to the BBL final on January 27.Meanwhile, the Thunder will host a finals match - dubbed the ‘Knockout’ - on Wednesday at 7:30pm at Sydney Olympic Park. They will play the Stars, Heat or Strikers, depending on results over the weekend.
