Outside of India vs Pakistan, the Ashes series played between England and Australia is regarded as one of the most legendary cricketing rivalry in the sport. England seamer Stuart Broad found this out first hand in the 2013/14 series when he came across a shirt branded with a choice expletive regarding him, as per a story by Joe Root.“What an Ashes competitor. Look at his record against Australia. He did some very special things on the field. And when in 2013/14, he was the most hated man in the world. I was sure, it was in Melbourne. I think we were walking towards a park. We were going for lunch or something. And someone stopped him and said, ‘excuse me, do you the park is and he went, ‘I am pretty sure it’s over there’. And this guy is wearing a ‘Stuart Broad is a s**t bloke’ t-shirt. And he has got no idea that he is talking to Stuart Broad. It was that level of hatred towards him on that tour. Like people who don’t know anything about cricket or who he is are still wearing the merchandise. So he was actually quite impressed and quite proud of that,” Root said in the Barmy Army TV YouTube channel.
