Omar Berrada makes transfer window promise to Man Utd fans, ‘I’m confident…’

Manchester United can strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign now that the summer transfer window is open.

Little time was wasted at the beginning of the transfer window as Manchester United confirmed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Ruben Amorim endured a difficult first six months as United’s head coach, and it was clear that Ineos would need to back him going into the new season.

United lost the Europa League final and finished 15th in the Premier League, which means there will be no European football this season, coming as a blow to all United fans.

To raise funds for further transfers, United will be tasked with selling players Amorim deems surplus to requirements. They will include the players that were sent on loan last season, such as Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.

There will be more deals involving United. At least the signing of Cunha, 25, has been welcomed because the Red Devils lacked firepower in the final third last season.

Omar Berrada makes Man Utd promise

With one deal done, Ineos are working to sign more players for United.

United have been linked with targets like Bryan Mbeumo and Viktor Gyokeres, but only time will tell who signs the dotted line and becomes a Red.

The deal to sign Cunha was done quickly during the first transfer window (June 1-10) after United met his £62.5 million valuation. It will be paid in instalments, meaning United still have some of their transfer kitty for more deals.

Speaking to Andy Mitten for The National, United’s chief executive, Omar Berrada, makes a promise to United fans that the team will be stronger after the transfer window.

Berrada also explains that United are trying to get their business done quickly.

“He was an important one to get done,” Berrada said of Cunha. “We’re going to do our best to do more signings quickly.

“Sometimes when you’re not quick it’s because you’re negotiating and you’re trying to make sure you get the right value for money.

“So being efficient or quick isn’t necessarily the best thing for the club. We also must do some player exits, that’s important, so we’re going to have to balance the books.

“But we’ve put ourselves in the best position possible by doing everything that we’ve had this year around cost-cutting. Everything else that we talked about and raising ticket prices.

“I’m confident that we will come out of the window with a much stronger team than what we’ve gone into.”

United fans will be demanding improvements on the pitch next season.

No excuses.

Ruben Amorim wants new signings before pre-season

Pre-season begins in four weeks and Ineos are working hard to get more deals over the line.

According to The Mirror, Amorim wants his new signings on board for the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.

United have been quicker than usual to recruit this summer and they are expected to speed up the process as soon as we reach July.

The Premier League Summer Series will see United take on West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton.
