Darwin Núñez is expected to leave Liverpool this summer, and Napoli won’t advance on negotiations with other strikers until they understand whether a summer move to the Stadio Maradona is feasible, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Napoli are set to continue talks with Liverpool for Núñez next week, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Nunez is Napoli transfer priority in attack

Football Italia already reported on Friday that the Partenopei had made a verbal offer in the region of €40m, as the Uruguay international is their clear priority in attack for the 2025-26 campaign.

Romano confirms that Núñez is the top name on Napoli’s agenda and a ‘dream target as striker for Antonio Conte.’

Romano adds that Napoli won’t move forward in discussions with other strikers until they have a clear picture of a possible deal for the Liverpool forward.

Two more options for Napoli if they fail to sign Nunez

The Partenopei are still working on the financial details, including transfer fee and player’s salary, and talks with the Reds will continue next week.

Lorenzo Lucca and Rasmus Hojlund have also been linked with a move to the Stadio Maradona, but Napoli will only continue negotiations with Udinese and Manchester United if they can’t secure Núñez’s signature.
