(Getty Images)Crystal Palace completed the season-long loan signing of promising youngster Christantus Uche from La Liga side Getafe. Uche appeared 41 times in all competitions for the La Liga club, scoring four goals and providing seven assists. Born in Owerri, in the southeastern Nigeria, Uche has had a remarkable rise not just in level of professional football but also in transfer value. Just three seasons ago, he was playing in Spain's third division (Tercera División) for Moralo B. During the 23/24 season, he moved from Moralo B to AD Cueta for as little as €800 before being snapped by Getafe for €3 million. His loan move to Crystal Palace came at the cost of €17.50 million. So, in just two years his market value has grown by 21,875 times! “Life in Nigeria was so tough,” Uche told DAZN Sport when with Getafe. “If I look at myself now… I look back to then, and there have been a lot of changes. Every day, I thank God for this life. “Everybody [in Nigeria] loved football, everybody wants to play, especially when they see this boy has made this career, this dream, far from them… they will be motivated, they all want to play football.” The Nigeria international became Palace’s fifth acquisition of the summer, after Walter Benitez, Borna Sosa, Yeremy Pino, and Jaydee Canvot. After completing the move to Crystal Palace, Uche said: “This moment is surreal. I feel incredibly fortunate to be here today, and this club represents a huge opportunity for me.”End of ArticleFollow Us On Social Media
