Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz face off in a blockbuster semi-final showdown at the 2025 US Open on Friday (5 September).

The tennis stars have a combined five titles at Flushing Meadows, but only one of 38-year-old Djokovic and world number two Alcaraz can reach the championship match at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center this Sunday.

This will be their second matchup since the Paris 2024 Olympic gold medal match, as well as a fifth Grand Slam meeting in their intriguing rivalry. Djokovic continues his bid for his 25th career major, the seventh seed defeating American number one Taylor Fritz in a gutsy four-set battle.

Olympic champion Djokovic has had to face either the top or second seed in his three previous Grand Slam semi-finals this season, and the trend continues against second seed Alcaraz. Can he reach an 11th championship match in New York City?

Alcaraz has never beaten Djokovic on hard courts, the surface on which the Serbian has claimed 14 of his Grand Slam titles. The Spaniard last won the US Open in 2022 but has not reached the final since, now aiming for a third consecutive major career final.

22-year-old Alcaraz has been simply unstoppable on his way to the final four, not dropping a set and taking out two seeds in Luciano Darderi and Jiří Lehečka. Another seed lies in store, and a 24-time major champion in that.

Find out everything you need to know ahead of Djokovic vs Alcaraz.
