Speaking on the Rangers Review podcast on 29 September, journalist Chris Jack has spoken about how important the result on Sunday could be.

He said: “Any Rangers side that wants to become challengers or potential title-winners must find a way to win games.

“In terms of positives, in the unlikely event that we’re sat here in May and Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership, then Max Aarons’ goal was a massive turning point.

“If they can win their next two matches, then it’s maybe time for Martin to be a bit more bold in these press conferences.”

These next two matches are not just crucial for Russell Martin’s tenure at the club, but also for the course of Rangers’ season as a whole.

Having led the Bears to their worst start to a domestic season in 47 years, Martin’s future at the club is precarious.

The likelihood that Rangers are anywhere near a title race is completely far-fetched based on current evidence, yet if Martin is able to string together a winning run, then the mentality at the club may completely change.

Ahead of the match vs Livingston, Martin did an exclusive interview with Sky Sports explaining how the players need time to adapt, once again to the annoyance of Light Blues fans.

Whilst it seems Martin can’t win with the Ibrox faithful, the most important thing is that he starts winning football matches.

If he is able to lead Rangers on a winning run, supporters will begrudgingly accept Martin’s attitude when it comes to speaking with the media.
