The GAA's Central Hearings Committee has confirmed fines of €7,500 for both the Armagh and Donegal county boards following the brawl at the end of May's Ulster football final. The Central Competitions Control Committee had initially proposed the punishments for 'disruptive conduct by players' (Rule 7.2d 3) in July, but both parties requested a CHC hearing, which took place on Friday. The CHC upheld the decision and both counties will now have to pay up, unless they appeal the decision to the association's Central Appeals Committee. The melee erupted as Donegal were celebrating victory and Gardaí intervened to separate the two sides.Video evidence that could have led to individual suspensions was not considered as it was not from official broadcasters."It’s not nice to see," said Donegal manager Jim McGuinness after the game. "It shouldn’t happen."I was giving my daughter a hug at the time. I didn’t see what happened, but it shouldn’t be in the game."
