Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has launched a scathing rant on Marcus Rashford.Marcus Rashford left Manchester United on loan to sign with Barcelona this summer, after playing the second half of last season with Aston Villa.Despite starting United’s first game under Ruben Amorim, Rashford fell out of favour after being axed for last December’s derby, and subsequently stating he wanted a new challenge.Rashford scored two goals for Barcelona in their Champions League win over Newcastle last week, earning widespread praise.Scholes unable to feel happy for RashfordPaul Scholes says that amid all the fanfare for Marcus Rashford, he cannot feel happy for the Manchester United loanee. After the game, on social media he praised Pedri, and ignored Rashford’s contribution.Scholes says this is because he still feels resentment towards the way Rashford’s Manchester United career fell off track.He blames the player and accuses Rashford of failing to give maximum effort at all times, with a blistering rant laying into the forward.Scholes told The Good, The Bad & The Football: “There’s no doubt the talent that kid has got, it’s ridiculous, he’s shown up in a big game, and that second goal was brilliant.More United News“I really struggled to feel happy for him, to feel pleased for him.“Mainly because his attitude, his attitude at United. The time he was leaving, I thought it was just disgrace at United, not trying, basically.“Look, if you fell out with a manager, then OK, but remember, you’ve got teammates you’re playing with.“You’ve got a massive 80,000 there, whatever it is, every single week that you have to put a bit of effort in.“The amount of times I saw him at United walking because he wants to leave, I thought his whole demeanour was a disgrace.“I think he actually quit on Manchester United. And once you quit once, you’ll quit again.Scholes warns Rashford about BarcelonaScholes claims he saw some worrying signs from Rashford in Barcelona’s win over Newcastle despite his two goals.“Even thinking at Newcastle Barcelona again, there were signs of him just not wanting to run back and not wanting to work for his team again.“He won’t get away with that at Barcelona for long.”Rashford was dropped from the starting line-up from Barcelona’s subsequent game after arriving late to a meeting, a worrying sign.He came off the bench to provide an assist, and Hansi Flick’s deft handling of the situation was praised.
