Playing against Sascha is always a very special occasion, playing in a packed stadium.“Today he was clearly not 100%, we saw that he was struggling physically, he had a very tight schedule in the past months, yesterday, an incredible match he won, two match points down.“It’s also difficult mentally, obviously also physically, because he made the final in Vienna, coming here, making semis again, it’s an incredible run for him, but we all hope that he gets better and fit for Turin now. But on my side, I’m obviously happy to be in the final.”More Tennis NewsSinner is tied 2-2 in the head-to-head with his final opponent, Auger-Aliassime, having won their last two meetings. They last clashed in the semifinals of the 2025 US Open, which Sinner won in four sets.“He plays incredible tennis at the moment,” said Sinner, talking about the in-form Canadian. “He has improved a lot, especially in the past months. He has found his game again.“I’m looking forward to it tomorrow, playing against him, especially in the final; it’s a great occasion for both of us.“Obviously, we hope for a great final, but I’m very happy for Felix; he’s one of the nicest guys we have on tour, and sharing the final with him is going to be something special.“We will both try to push each other to the limits. It’s going to be a very difficult match tomorrow, but again, I’m very happy. I will enjoy the atmosphere, and after that match, I have a couple of days off, which helps too.”Alexander Zverev claimed to be ‘exhausted’ and injuredAnalysing the match on Sky Sports, former British player Naomi Broady said of Sinner: “He did [look sharp] and very telling that there’s no celebration here at all.“He’s not gone out onto the court to calm the world, I think he 100% knows his opponent wasn’t there today, wasn’t able to be, exhausted at this point in the season, exhausted from the match yesterday, and clearly with an injury as well, hopefully he has time to rest up, get ready for the finals, just around the corner.“Last push for Zverev. We can say that Zverev wasn’t at his best, but goodness me, Sinner, what a performance.“Again, we see this on so many occasions, he just turns into a robot in the best sense, there’s nothing that can knock off his rhythm, it would be so easy to lose your focus with that kind of scoreline, but he almost proceeds to get better as the match goes on.”Both Sinner and Zverev have qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin, with just one spot remaining in the year-end tournament, which Auger-Aliassime can claim by winning the Paris Masters title.
