Women's Tennis 11/2/2025 7:03:00 PMWomen’s Tennis Posts Impressive Weekend at Fall-Finale Navy BlindsNavy Goes a Combined 17-4 Between Singles and Doubles PlayANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's tennis team ended its fall season in style by winning 17 of its 21 combined matches at the Navy Blinds event, hosted over Saturday and Sunday at the Tose Family Tennis Center.Facing competition from Towson and Loyola during the first day of action before squaring off with Johns Hopkins' players a day later, the Midshipmen went 11-1 overall in singles matches while going 6-3 on the doubles courts.Navy kicked off the weekend by facing the Tigers in six singles contests, as freshman Anna Wiskowski got the ball rolling with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Chloe Courtnage and junior Anna Jordaan notched the 6-2, 6-1 victory against Sania Suchinsky, while rookie Jina Cha defeated Ashira Murray, 6-2, 6-4, to continue the trend. Adding to the Mids' success, sophomore Grace Li knocked off Kiersten Tambe in a 6-3, 6-3 decision and junior captain Manci Pal held on for a 6-2, 4-6, 10-3 win over Gaia Montecchi. The lone Navy loss came when freshman Sydney Fuger fell to Tamzin Pountney by a 7-6 (2), 6-4 score.The Mids kept up the winning in doubles action against Towson, with junior Olivia Fermo and freshman Nicole Fu beating Tambe and Chandre Boshoff, 6-0, while sophomores Molly Bellia and Emma Gu scored a 6-2 win over Pountney and Aubrey Carper and the sophomore tandem of Peyton Amspacher-Philemon and Ji Soo Oh finished off a 7-5 victory against Murray and Suchinsky.Also playing Loyola in doubles competition Saturday, Cha and Pal went on to win, 6-4, over Christina Richiez and Victoria Epps, Li and Wiskowski tallied their fourth-straight win together with a 6-3 victory against Emi Shivkumar and Kate Agnew, while Amspacher and Oh completed the sweep with a 6-2 win over Lily Langhus and Sabrina Grewal.Sunday opened with more singles play, as Fermo scored a 7-5, 6-3 victory over the Blue Jays' Sahana Madala and Fu matched her doubles partner with a 7-6 (0), 6-2 win over Isabel He. A sophomore quartet also picked up singles victories as well, with Li grabbing her sixth-straight singles win by defeating Sydney Langer, 6-4, 6-1, Bellia edging out Jay Xiao by a 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 final, Gu posting a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Aubrey Zhou and Amspacher-Philemon capping off the singles sweep with a 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 result against Karah Li.Hopkins bounced back in doubles play to sweep the Mids' pairings, as Fuger and Jordaan were defeated by Kamila Wong and Ava Li, 6-2, while Pal and Cha were nipped by Madala and Claire Loftus in a 6-4 battle and the pairing of Oh with Wiskowski suffered a 6-2 loss to Sophia Kim and Lia Melvin.Head Coach Keith Puryear Comments"This was a great way to end what was a very productive and successful fall season.
