Each club offered roughly €3 million in incentives.)When he arrived in Istanbul late on Wednesday night, Sané issued a statement.“First of all, I am incredibly happy. I cannot describe my happiness. I can hear the fans right now, which is a very different feeling. In short, I have to say that I am incredibly happy to be here,” Sané told the Galatasaray club website. “I played here before. It was an incredible atmosphere, an incredible environment. Frankly, there were a lot of fans and they were very vocal against me. I am very happy that they will be behind me now and I am very excited to play in front of Galatasaray fans in my first match here. First of all, I am very grateful to them. It is really important to come here at this hour. It means a lot to me. That is why I am grateful to them. I am very happy to meet them, to be with them. I thank them very much.“The atmosphere had a huge impact on me. There was a very loud atmosphere in the stadium. Of course, it had a big impact on my decision. Frankly, I can’t wait to play my first match in front of Galatasaray fans. Of course, there were many offers but Galatasaray as a whole impressed me a lot.“I was very impressed by the atmosphere and the size of the club, how much they wanted me and how much interest they showed in me. That’s why I made my decision to come to Galatasaray with great confidence. I would like to thank our President Dursun Aydın Özbek, our Technical Director Okan Buruk and Mr. Abdullah Kavukcu for bringing me here and taking care of me.”Some observers might take umbrage with the notion that “there were many offers”, but the final chapter for Sané has been written.Sané took to Instagram to say goodbye to Bayern Munich fans:After five years, the much heralded winger will leave the club this summer.Looking for more thoughts and reactions to Leroy Sané’s stunning decision to turn down a contract proposal from Bayern Munich in favor of a fresh start (and more money) from Galatasaray.
