Know schedule and where to watch live streaming and telecast in India

The Rugby Premier League 2025 - the first franchise-based Rugby 7s league approved by World Rugby - will be held at the Mumbai Football Arena from June 15 to 29.

The inaugural Rugby Premier League will be available on live stream and will be broadcast live on TV in India.

Organised by Rugby India, the 15-day competition will feature six teams playing 34 matches, including 30 in a double round-robin league stage, followed by two semi-finals, a third-place playoff and the final.

The RPL has secured a dedicated window on the international Rugby 7s calendar, attracting 30 marquee overseas players.

USA’s Perry Baker - a two-time World Rugby 7s Player of the Year, New Zealand’s Scott Curry - a six-time World Rugby Sevens Series champion and Olympic medallists Rosko Speckman (South Africa), Lucian Gonzalez (Argentina) and Joseva Talacolo (Fiji) will be seen in action in Mumbai.

Complementing the global names are 30 top Indian players picked from a pool of 71. Notable names include Mohit Khatri, Karan Rajbhar and Arpan Chhetri.

Each team must have five marquee foreign players, three ‘bridge’ players (from Hong Kong China, Germany and Canada) and five Indian players in their squads. Matches will last 22 minutes, which will include four-minute quarters and two-minute breaks between each quarter.

Some of the biggest names in rugby coaching will also be part of the RPL, including Mike Friday (former USA 7s head coach) and Ben Gollings (former Fiji head coach). Each team’s management includes an Indian assistant coach.
