Leeds United have released a statement condemning "vile" tragedy chanting by Millwall supporters following their FA Cup fourth round clash at Elland Road this afternoon.

A Whites statement read: "During today’s FA Cup fourth round tie with Millwall, we were extremely disappointed to hear vile chants relating to football tragedies from the away section at Elland Road.

"We know the impact this has on the families of Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight, along with the whole fan base of Leeds United.

"We will work with the police and Millwall Football Club to identify those involved, whilst we will also continue our efforts with the football authorities to help eradicate these chants from the game."

The Lions booked their place in the fifth round of the competition after recording a 2-0 win. Femi Azeez scored twice as Millwall beat the Whites for the second time in four months.

Alex Neil’s in-form Lions arrived at Elland Road on the back of three straight league wins and they proved too strong for a much-changed Leeds outfit in front of a 34,923 crowd. Whites boss Daniel Farke made 10 changes to his starting XI, resting a number of first team players including Joe Rodon and Daniel James. It showed as winger Azeez opened the scoring in the 30th minute before grabbing his second 10 minutes into the second half to ensure the Lions progressed to the fifth round for the first time since 2018-19.

United return to action on Tuesday night evening when they travel to Watford.
