Ange Postecoglou gives clear response when asked for his take on Marcus Rashford future at Man Utd

Marcus Rashford went public with his desire to seek new opportunities as doubts grow over his future at Manchester United.

It has been difficult watching Marcus Rashford over the past two years because every fan knows he is capable of doing amazing things on a football pitch, but it hasn’t been able to showcase that regularly.

Rashford’s form fell off a cliff after he recorded his best season tally of 30 goals two years ago. He has been unable to replicate that form since and, to make matters worse, he was dropped from Ruben Amorim’s squad for United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

It sounds like Amorim is doing everything he can to help Rashford, but the 27-year-old must be desperate to be the best if he wants to succeed in United’s first-team.

Ange Postecoglou not interested in Marcus Rashford rumours

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou stressed that Rashford is “not on my radar” as transfer links spread, linking multiple clubs with a move for the under-fire England international.

Rashford announced he is open to leaving Old Trafford in the wake of reports that United are set to transfer list him in January.

Asked for his thoughts on Rashford’s comments, Postecoglou told reporters at his pre-match press conference: “[I have] no interest, I don’t care. No interest, he’s a Manchester United player.

“If I looked at everyone we were linked to, I would have no time to do anything else to be honest,” Postecoglou added, when asked about historic links with Rashford. “I have got other people to do that part of the process.

“For us, we’ve been pretty disciplined in what we’re trying to build here and we’ll continue to be so.”

Postecoglou was pushed further by journalists, who asked if “that was a no” in regards to Rashford.

The Tottenham head coach added: “That’s a ‘not on my radar’. You can ask me about Marcus but you can ask me about every single Premier League footballer and I’ll say the same thing.”

Marcus Rashford record vs Tottenham

Manchester United travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Thursday night.

It remains to be seen if Rashford will be in the United squad after missing out on the derby.

With six goals and one assist registered against Tottenham down the years, Amorim may want to recall Rashford, even to give him another chance in his system.

Rashford has only faced Tottenham in a cup competition once. United won 2-1 to book their place in the FA Cup final.
