The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will resume on May 17, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Monday.

The announcement comes three days after the IPL 2025 season was suspended for a week on account of the India-Pakistan conflict. A ceasefire between the two nations on May 10 influenced the rollback.

A total of 17 matches will be played across six venues – Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Ahmedabad – starting May 17 with the IPL 2025 final scheduled on June 3. The revised schedule includes two double-headers, which will be played on two Sundays.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will host the Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the first match once the IPL resumes.

Venue details for the IPL playoff matches will be announced at a later stage.

The IPL 2025 had been on hold since the mid-match abandonment of the May 8 fixture between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala. The match will be replayed on May 24 in Jaipur.
