Why is Scotland v Belarus game tonight behind closed doors?

Monday's game will kick off at 7.45pm and is taking place at the ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary.

It comes after the Scottish national team drew with Denmark at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on Friday.

Tartan Army fans gathered to watch the game, where they were seen waving Saltire flags and celebrating.

But tonight's game is being played behind closed doors, meaning fans can only watch the game as it's broadcast on TV.

Why is Scotland v Belarus behind closed doors?

Belarus are banned from staging home matches in their own country because of their government's support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Football body Uefa ruled that all Belarusian clubs and national teams participating in its competitions would have to play games matches at neutral venues and with no fans.

This is why the game is taking place in Hungary, rather than Belarus.

The game will be broadcast on BBC One Scotland or BBC Scotland from 7.30pm.
