mgk, formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly, will perform at the Bud Light Grey Cup halftime show from Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg on Sunday, Nov. 16, the CFL announced Thursday.

“Canada has some of the best fans, so I’m excited to play the Grey Cup Halftime Show and to see some epic Canadian football,” the ‘Lonely Road’ and ‘my ex’s best friend’ singer said in a press release.

The 35-year-old hitmaker, born Colson Baker, is a GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum recording artist and has previously won ‘Top Rock Artist’ honours at both the Billboard and American Music Awards for his 2022 album, Mainstream Sellout.

mgk is set to embark on a world tour for his seventh studio album, Lost Americana, following his performance at the Grey Cup, and will be making stops in Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton, Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver on his way through the 12-country, 66-stop circuit.

Toronto-based alternative rock band Our Lady Peace are also set to perform during this year’s Grey Cup festivities, and will take to the stage to get the action started ahead of the big game for the SiriusXM Grey Cup Kickoff show.

“We’re honoured to be part of such an iconic and longstanding Canadian tradition,” said lead singer Raine Maida, who has fronted the band for over three decades.

The Canadian troupe has sold over 5 million albums since debuting as a group in 1994, winning four JUNOs and 10 Much Music Video Awards over the years.

The band’s first six studio albums all went certified multi-platinum in Canada, with 1997’s Clumsy going diamond in February 2001 to put ‘OLP’ in elite company alongside 10 other Canadian artists to ever accomplish the feat.

Additionally, Catie St. Germain will have the honour of singing the national anthem prior to kickoff in her home province of Manitoba.

“We’re delivering a remarkable sound and atmosphere that will match the world-class action and entertainment on the field,” CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston said. “An iconic Canadian band to kick things off, a powerful Manitoban voice to honour our anthem and a rising megastar to electrify halftime. It’s going to be a show as unforgettable as the game itself!”
