SAN JOSE, Calif. (May. 27, 2025) – The Football Association of Zambia has announced Bay FC forward Racheal Kundananji has been selected to join the Copper Queens for a pair of friendlies during the May 26-June 3 international window. Kundananji joins her nation’s 24-member squad to face off against Botswana May 31, and South Africa June 3 from Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.The call-up marks Kundananji’s second by the Copper Queens in 2025. She was selected for the February international window earlier this year, scoring two goals in a pair of friendlies vs. Malawi on February 23 and 25. She was selected for international play twice in 2024, including for the Paris Olympics where she scored a brace in the group stage against Australia.Kundananji has represented Zambia at the senior level since 2018, scoring 26 goals and featuring at the top levels of the game. She was a member of Zambia’s World Cup debut squad in 2023, finding the net in a 3-1 victory over Costa Rica to close the group stage. She made her Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo games, scoring an early equalizer in a 4-4 thriller vs. China PR.Kundananji will return to Bay FC following the international window ahead of the club’s match Saturday, June 7 vs. Portland Thorns FC at PayPal Park.
