How Jannik Sinner Compares to Djokovic, Nadal, & Federer After 100 Grand Slam Matches

An updated graphic shows how 2025 Wimbledon Championships winner Jannik Sinner compares to the greatest tennis players in men's singles history.

Sinner dropped only one set as he marched to this year's trophy at the All-England Club in London on Sunday, the 13th of July, beating Ben Shelton, Novak Djokovic, and Carlos Alcaraz, among others. It is the fourth major of Sinner's career, having won the Australian Open twice, and the US Open once, at just 24 years old.

After 100 Grand Slam matches, a new statistic shows how comparable the start of Sinner’s career is to a younger Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, and Andy Murray — and the results are telling.

After 100 Grand Slam matches, a graphic US Open's social media account posted shows that Sinner has more wins in the sport's most prestigious competition than Federer, Djokovic, and Murray after their first 100 matches in Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open matches.

Sinner is second only to Nadal, according to the data.

The data is telling, as Sinner is establishing the modern era as one that he is in control of. This is particularly true when one considers his Australian Open victory earlier this year, his final heartbreak against French Open winner Alcaraz earlier in the summer, and now, his Wimbledon success, too.

If Sinner makes it to the final at the US Open, he'll have competed for every major trophy in the same calendar year. He is also one US Open win away from scooping three of the four available majors. Sinner, by this metric, is getting ever-closer to a Calendar Year Grand Slam. To date, the last athlete to have achieved such a Grand Slam in singles competition was Steffi Graf in 1988. The last male singles competitor achieved the feat way back in 1969 when Rod Laver achieved it a second time, following his first success in 1962.

The fourth and final major this year begins Sunday, the 24th of August and finishes on Sunday, the 7th of September. The US Open takes place inside the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York City.
