The Danish superstar overcame a tough battle in the Round of 16, having been stretched to three tight sets. Shanghai was what Rune needed after a disappointing end at the US Open, and maybe this kickstarts a string of good results.Rune takes on the surprise quarterfinalist in the qualifier, Valentin Vacherot. The Monegasque has impressed everyone this week, and he has been a revelation on the tour. He stands at 6’4″ and has a pretty good serve. He has already beaten high-quality opponents this week, but Rune may present a different challenge altogether. Expect Rune to dig in and make Vacherot go for the extra angles, leading him to commit a higher count of unforced errors.Prediction: Rune in 3Embed from Getty ImagesNovak Djokovic vs Zizou BergsHead-to-head – First MeetingNovak Djokovic has battled extremely hard throughout this tournament. The 24 time Grand Slam champion has scraped through to reach the last eight. The Serbian has in the past, managed his injuries pretty well, including at the Grand Slam level to find a way to get the job done.Zizou Bergs has had a pretty solid week and his match against Gabriel Diallo which he won in a third set tiebreaker was a classic. The Belgian though doesn’t really possess the weapons to hurt Djokovic from the baseline and he may have to rely on the Serbian being extremely fatigued and unable to play at a high-level due to on court issues. If Djokovic is even close to the level of play he has shown this year, he should be able to get the win somehow.Prediction: Djokovic in 3
