FSG prepare surprise offer for Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement who has already agreed Liverpool move

The Merseyside club has been linked with a move for the Bayer Leverkusen right-back in recent months.

The Dutch full-back has been a standout performer under Xabi Alonso and has attracted interest from several top clubs, including Liverpool.

TBR Football previously reported that Arne Slot has urged Liverpool to sign Frimpong, with the club already engaging in conversations regarding the player’s situation.

A report even emerged in Demember that Frimpong has already agreed to join Liverpool at the end of the season.

Now, according to the latest from Empire of the Kop, Liverpool are preparing to make their first official move, with a bid in the region of £29 million to £34 million being lined up. The Reds are keen to wrap up the deal for the 24-year-old as quickly as possible.

With strong interest also coming from Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United, Liverpool are determined to move fast and get ahead in the race for Frimpong’s signature.

Frimpong played a key role in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten Bundesliga title campaign last season, contributing nine goals and nine assists in 31 league appearances.

Across all competitions, he racked up an impressive 14 goals and 12 assists, with Bundesliga.com describing his as ‘unstoppable’ for his incredible season.

He has continued his form, contributing 4 goals and 12 assists across 47 matches this season.

In comparison, Trent Alexander-Arnold has recorded four goals and eight assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season.

But at just 26, he has already recorded his name in the Premier League’s history books by becoming the defender with the most assists in the competition’s history.

Of course, comparing anyone to Trent is never straightforward—he’s a uniquely gifted player who has redefined the full-back role with his exceptional passing range, long-range shooting, and set-piece quality.

That said, Frimpong could still prove to be a fantastic signing for Liverpool. And with the growing Dutch influence at the club, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him favour a move to Anfield over rival suitors.
