Football superstar Mohamed Salah has ended speculation about his future by signing a contract extension to stay with English Premier League leaders Liverpool. There had been plenty of uncertainty over the 32-year-old’s future since September when he gave an interview stating that he was ‘disappointed’ with the lack of talks on a new contract. With his previous deal set to expire at the end of this season, a move to Saudi Arabia was being touted, after Liverpool rejected a £150m [USD 197m] offer from Al-Ittihad for the star forward in 2023.But Salah, who represented Egypt in the men's football tournament at the London 2012 Olympic Games and is a two-time male African Footballer of the Year, will now get the chance to add to his astonishing resume at Anfield. He has signed a new two-year deal, according to Liverpool's announcement on social media on Friday (11 April), keeping him in England until the end of the 2026/27 season. The attacking player has scored 243 goals in 393 appearances for the club, winning the European Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, English League Cup and Fifa Club World Cup."Of course I'm very excited - we have a great team now," said Salah."Before we also had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football."I have played eight years here, hopefully it's going to be 10. I'm enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I have had the best years of my career here."
