The furious open letter from more than 100 Celtic fan groups has reportedly reached the desk of Michael Nicholson.

And it has been claimed that the chief executive officer is preparing to break his silence after the chaotic window.

Supporters across the globe put their names to a 333-word message to the under-fire hierarchy on Wednesday as they unleashed after a chaotic summer transfer window in Glasgow's east end.

The disastrous deadline day followed on from Brendan Rodgers' side being eliminated from the Champions League by minnows Kairat Almaty - with chants of 'sack the board' ringing out during both legs of the playoff clash.

Among the fan groups that put their name to the letter is Celts Are Here, who have released a statement from Celtic Liaison Officer John Paul Taylor.

Taylor confirmed: “Michael is aware of all the letters/statements from supporters group and he will be seeing them personally.

"With regards to supporters sending in emails, all have/will be collated and sent to his PA.”

While transfers are the main issue at this stage, majority shareholder Dermot Desmond has already insisted the manager has the final say on deals.

In a rare and wide-ranging interview back in 2022, Desmond made it clear that the man in the dugout had the final say to green light or veto deals.

He said: "Just to clarify the position - it came up in a number of times in misinformed press reports and other commentaries about recruiting players - in the last 20 odd years, the manager of the club decides what players to take in, not the board, not anybody else.

"Searches provide information to the manager, the manager then makes a decision, maybe in conjunction with his coaching staff. He makes the ultimate decision, he's chairman of the board."
