Darwin Núñez receives advice from former agent after 'angry' split and 'karma' warning

Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez has received some honest advice from his former agent amid his struggles at Anfield. The Uruguayan forward is without a goal in his last eight appearances for the Reds.

His latest outing arrived off the bench during the 4-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. The 24-year-old replaced Colombian winger Luis Díaz in the 75th minute but failed to make any meaningful contributions, as his frustrations boiled over after full-time.

Shorty, after referee Paul Tierney had blown the final whistle, Núñez took to his personal Instagram account to delete all Liverpool-related posts on his profile - as well as blocking several fan accounts who had commented on his recent dip in form. Núñez has 11 goals and eight assists across his 22 starts in the Premier League this season.

Edgardo Lasalvia, the former agent of Núñez, has since spoken to winwin regarding the current performance of his old client. "Darwin is one of the best current strikers in the world. I no longer work with him but I love him very much," he said (Via winwin.com).

"We have overcome many challenges and difficulties together, including two knee operations. Thanks to our great support and love, and with his will and the support of his family, he was able to overcome it."

He then went on to talk about what the Uruguayan forward needs to do to overcome the challenges he is facing at Liverpool currently, where he added: "I would like him to believe in himself and remember everything he went through to get to where he is today, and to rely on the people who truly love him with or without success, with or without money, because he will succeed again in.

"Life and he will become the best striker in the world. Why is he wasting easy opportunities?! Football players are human and these are just periods in their football career, they must be supported.”

Lasalvia and Núñez parted ways before his move to Anfield after he joined Jorge Mendes's Gestifute agency - which also represents his current Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota. Speaking after the incident, Lasalvia voiced his opinions on the matter publicly, admitting it was an "angry" split and warning there would be "karma".

“I had no chance to talk to Darwin,” he told Carve Deportiva via El Observador. “I found out when he came with six bodyguards and did not want to speak at the airport, where Juanjo Acevedo was. I had sent a boy from the company to look for him.

“There I tried to call him and from a message from WhatsApp he told me that he loved me very much, that he would always be my friend, blah blah blah but that he was going to start a new path with another company, and he blocked me. I had no right to reply.

"Everyone chooses how they want to live life, now they have a child, but there is karma, and everything comes back. You have to handle yourself as a good person and you have to have a memory. It is impossible that you do not have a memory.

"I got angry when I lost Darwin. It broke me in half because I adore the kid, but I understood that it’s business."

Liverpool.com says: While his former agent was wrong to speak out about the situation involving Núñez, he is right about the player needing to believe in himself when he is in front of goal. We have seen flashes of his brilliance but if he is to become 'the best in the world' like Lasalvia says he can, he needs to become more prolific.
