Pep Guardiola reaffirms his faith in the ability of James Trafford

Pep Guardiola spoke about second choice shot stopper James Trafford.

Man City decided to buy back the goalkeeper, who left for constant first time football at Burnley, who set a record with 16 goals conceded in the Championship last campaign.

He kept a clean sheet in an emphatic 4-0 victory over Wolves on the opening matchday of the Premier League season, but a costly error in a 2-0 loss to Tottenham was the beginning of his end of his stint as the number one.

The Italian has been a revelation after his Champions League winning exploits in the French capital, and his presence with Erling Haaland in the boxes saw City go five unbeaten in the league after his arrival.

Trafford has had to wait for his moment to impress, which should now come in the Carabao Cup.

“The keeper is a special situation because the keepers play normally one and the second one don't play as young. Only I can say that we are delighted with his behaviour and training and one of the reasons why I want to go through in this competition because we have to be ready just in case we need it in the Premier League and Champions League and of course that we have an incredible keeper.

“I would say many times for England will be sooner or later top one.
