Sydney Swans long-serving recruiting boss, Kinnear Beatson, will transition out of the club’s List Management team this December into a role with the QBE Sydney Swans Academy, where he will continue to identify and develop key young talent.Sydney Swans long-serving recruiting boss, Kinnear Beatson, will transition out of the club’s List Management team this December and take up a part-time role in the QBE Sydney Swans Academy.Beatson’s distinguished career at Sydney has spanned more than 20 years, and in that time, he has landed some of the biggest names in the game for the club.‘Kinn’ officially started his AFL recruiting career with the Brisbane Lions in 1994 before taking up a role as the Swans’ Manager of Player Acquisition in 2006. Since then, Beatson has held several roles in the red and white, predominantly as General Manager of List Strategy and Recruitment, and more recently as the club’s Recruiting Manager.Beatson will transition into a role with the QBE Sydney Swans Academy, where he will continue to identify and develop key young talent.Beatson said he is excited about starting a new chapter with the club."It has been an honour to work in the Sydney Swans recruiting team for the past 21 years, and while that chapter is over, I’m really looking forward to getting started in the Academy program,” Beatson said.“I have a real passion for identifying talent, so I’m really glad I get to continue that side of my work.“I have been lucky enough to work under two extremely supportive Chairmen in Richard Colless and Andrew Pridham, and I have worked with so many tremendously talented people across all levels of the club, many of whom will remain friends for life.“It was such an honour being awarded Life Membership last year and it means so much to myself and my family,” Beatson said.Sydney Swans CEO Tom Harley has thanked Beatson for his time in the recruiting team.“Kinn is a Life Member of our club and has had a hand in bringing every current player on our men’s list to the club.
